Access to dental care is essential for everyone, but individuals with disabilities often face unique challenges. Kansas recently expanded Medicaid to cover adult dental benefits, allowing more people to receive essential care. In 2022 the Kansas Legislature approved funding to extend dental coverage to adults enrolled in Medicaid (KanCare). The Legislature added coverage for dentures in 2023 and in 2024 added funding to cover dental exams, x-rays, and cleanings for adults.
