Welcome to Pathways to Oral Health

Pathways to Oral Health is a collaborative initiative between the dental and disabilities communities in Kansas, dedicated to improving access to dental care and expanding education on oral health for individuals with disabilities who rely on KanCare. By improving oral health literacy and addressing critical barriers in dental care delivery, we are working to ensure that every individual—regardless of ability—can receive the quality oral healthcare they deserve.

Our work focuses on three key objectives:

Increasing KanCare Dental Providers

Through a statewide media campaign, technical support, and education programs, we help dental offices enroll as KanCare providers and to increase the network of providers available to treat individuals with disabilities.

ORAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

By providing clear information on what dental treatments are covered, appointment preparation, and advocacy strategies, we help individuals with disabilities and their care teams manage oral health challenges and access better care.

Education Programs for Providers and Consumers

We develop and share new educational resources, including videos on adaptive aids, provider training through Project Accessible Oral Health, and the expansion of the Feeling Good About Your Smile program to enhance oral health literacy and care.

Pathways to Oral Health builds on years of advocacy and innovation. With support from Oral Health Kansas and its partners, we are committed to breaking down barriers, strengthening support for caregivers and providers, and creating a more patient centered oral healthcare system in Kansas.

Join us in making dental care more accessible and equitable for all.
